Schola Galante to perform at Early Music at the Grange

PORT TOWNSEND — Schola Galante will perform “Return to Potsdam” at 2 p.m. Saturday.

The concert is part of the Early Music at the Grange series at Quimper Grange, 1219 Corona Ave.

Tickets are $20 per person at the door.

Ensemble members Dahti Blanchard, Lee Inman, Miguel Rodé and Douglass Hjelm will perform music from the court of Frederick the Great, who ruled Prussia from 1740-1786 and was a patron of the so-called Berlin School.

Frederick was a talented amateur flutist, and most of the music he sponsored highlighted the capabilities of the Baroque flute.
